I like to attempt to make my costumes and props... and I tend to fail, but one I'm working on now is a blade.

The effect I'm looking for is to have a picture under the shine. I'm wondering if I make a wooden blade, spray paint it, glue an image on that and then spray or paint many layers of clear lacquer on it would make it look as if the image is inside the blade.

Do you think there may be an easier way? Prop Making 473644

thats all I wanted to ask.

Hello~

I'm kind of having the same thoughts, and I already bought a wooden sword.
Problem is: the wood gets notched very easily, because it's a soft, light wood. I'm planing on using spray paint, but I fear the paint will crumble as soon as the wood gets bumped.
So maybe you should choose a harder wood from the start.

..I know thats not was you asked xD Sorry, but anyway, just to share experiences

When's your deadline for the blade?
Is clear lacquer impact-resistant?

Sorry my English fails sometimes ΓΆΓΆ
